The data used in this dashboard is pulled directly from Chameleon/CMS, the animal shelter software utilized by the City. This system is updated real-time by Animal Control personnel and data is automatically uploaded into Socrata on a daily basis.

"Each year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a pet.
The number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them. When you adopt, you save a loving animal by making them part of your family and open up shelter space for another animal who might desperately need it."

The Corona Animal Shelter is dedicated to the care of animals and people in our community!
Our department encourages the adoption of shelter animals by responsible families. Each year the City of Corona Animal Shelter cares for thousands of stray, lost, or homeless animals in need of new homes. You are invited to visit our animal shelter to select a pet from our companion animals available for adoption.

The mission of the Corona Animal Shelter is to help unite animals in need with loving owners. As a department, we strive to pave the way and act as leaders in animal advocacy and welfare. Community involvement is extremely important to us, and takes place in the form of adoption events and other activities. Caring, serving and educating to improve the lives of companion animals through effective use of resources and excellent personnel.

Most adoptable stray dogs and cats become available for adoption to the public four business days after they are received. If you did not find the right companion for you today, please check back. "Our goal is to find the best homes possible and to enhance the lives of our community, by bringing people and animals closer together." We do not sell pets, we adopt companion animals to loving homes for a lifetime commitment.
