About the Data
The data used in this dashboard is collected using a GIS application developed by the City of Corona in 2017. Historic information has been rolled into the application, which is now being used to track the rehabilitation process. Data is extracted and manually uploaded into CorStat on a yearly basis.
Paving the Way
The City of Corona works to keep the City's streets in excellent repair. The City is responsible for maintaining and repairing the City's roadways, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, lights, trees, and catch basins. Our staff strives to provide the residents of Corona with dependable, quality service.
The City's goal is to maintain all streets, alleys, and other thoroughfares in excellent condition while simultaneously providing the highest standards of safety, design, and ease-of-use to our citizens and those who travel through Corona. Funding for maintaining current street conditions also remains a top priority.
Why is this important?
The number of lane
miles paved is a simple indicator of the amount of
investment the City is making in the driving surface of our roads.
By investing in our roadways, citizens will enjoy an improved quality of life.
If insufficient maintenance is carried out regularly, roadways can need replacing or
major repairs after just a few years. Deterioration that occurs across roadway systems can happen very quickly. Failure to address these issues quickly can lead to rapidly rising costs and a major financial impact on both the economy and the residents of Corona.
