About the Data

The data used in this dashboard is provided by Sprout Social, a third party application utilized by the City of Corona for social media planning, scheduling, monitoring, and analytics. Social media data is extracted from the system and uploaded into Socrata manually on a monthly basis.

Nextdoor Users

Nextdoor is a private social media network that allows users to connect with their verified neighbors. The graph below shows the total amount of households in the entire City of Corona service area, as well as the number of households in each District. It also shows how many of those households have become members on the Nextdoor social media network. Social Media Impressions

Data below shows how many impressions we received on our social media posts over the past year (Update dates option in the top left corner to review older data). Impressions are the total amount of social media users that have viewed our social media content in their social media timelines. 
The data is broken up into three major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram*).  You may notice a large spike in September, which was largely due to the Canyon Fire 1 & Canyon Fire 2 messaging. 
*Instagram accounts launched in January of 2018.  

Social Media Engagement

Data below shows how much engagement we received with our social media posts over the past year (Update dates option in the top left corner to review older data). Engagement is measured by how many users Like, Comment, Share, Retweet, and Interact with posts.

The data is broken up into three major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram*). You may notice a large spike in August, 2018, which was largely due to the Holy Fire messaging.
*Instagram accounts launched in January of 2018.  

Community Information Division

"We are passionate about connecting with the community we serve." 
The City of Corona's Community Information Division is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between the City of Corona and its residents. We utilize a variety of outbound communication mediums to reach the city's residents including: e-notifications, social media, Press Releases, Inner-Circle News, and E-Newsletters. It is through our social media outlets that residents have a direct link to the City to ask questions, to leave comments, and to receive information on a variety of topics such as street closures, public meetings, initiatives, and events.
